What to read after Mistborn
You have finished era one, or all seven, and nothing else is quite landing. Where you should go next depends on what you were really there for.
If it was the magic system
Mistborn's appeal for a lot of readers is that Allomancy has rules, costs, and consequences that hold up under scrutiny. If that is what hooked you, The Stormlight Archive is the obvious next step and the one Sanderson himself points people toward. It is slower to start and considerably longer, but the systems are built with the same engineering mindset.
Outside the Cosmere, The Wheel of Time rewards the same instinct, though it asks for far more patience in the middle.
If it was the heist
The first trilogy is a crew assembling to rob an empire, and that is a different pleasure from epic fantasy generally. The Dresden Files scratches a similar itch in a modern setting, with a smaller cast and a faster clip.
Red Rising goes harder in the other direction, trading the caper for a brutal escalation, but it keeps the underdog-against-a-rigid-hierarchy shape that made the original trilogy work.
If it was the Cosmere
If what you want is the connective tissue, read Stormlight next and then go back for the era two Mistborn books. The crossovers land better once you have both halves, and reading in that order avoids the worst of the spoilers.
Before you start the next one
Whichever direction you pick, you are committing to another long book. This is the point at which most readers discover that whatever they were using as a bookmark through Mistborn is not going to survive another thousand pages.
Both come from the same maker, Magical Bookmark Co, who sell the same designs on Etsy.
