Dragons in fantasy do not all look alike and a bookmark that fights the book is worse than a plain one. A fiery western dragon suits Eragon, Fourth Wing and most of the dragonrider tradition. A colder, more serpentine design suits A Song of Ice and Fire. A dragon that reads as a heraldic symbol rather than a creature works for the political epics where the dragon is on the flag and not in the room.
If you are buying a gift and you do not know the series, go with the sword and dragon pairing. It reads as epic fantasy in general rather than any one book.
Why acrylic suits dragons
Dragon art lives on gradient: fire through smoke, scale into shadow. Translucent acrylic holds a gradient against the light in a way paper and card cannot, which is the whole reason the stained glass style took over this corner of the market.
